What it is

Medical massage is the name we use for massage that is guided by our understanding of muscles and joints. It is aimed at easing muscle tension, sore and tight areas, and at helping you recover after strain or heavy work. Options include deep tissue massage, sports massage and massage chair sessions.

Many people find massage helps tight muscles feel easier and helps them relax. It can help ease soreness. We do not claim it cures conditions, detoxifies the body or reduces fat.

Who it can help

People with tight neck and shoulders, a sore lower back after work, tired legs after sport or long walks, and anyone whose muscles stay tense after a heavy week.

What to expect in a session

A short conversation about what hurts and what you do all day. Pressure that is adjusted to your comfort, always. The areas worked are agreed before we start. Allow time to rest a few minutes afterwards and drink water.

Questions

Is it painful?

Deep tissue can be intense, never harsh. Say when it is too much.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing. We use towels for privacy.

Can I combine it with physiotherapy?
