Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, a small phone or a slow connection.
What we have done
- Text starts at 18 px and can be made larger with the Aa button. The whole site works at 200 percent zoom and on a 320 px wide screen.
- Everything can be used with a keyboard. There is a skip link, a clear focus ring and a logical order.
- Colours are chosen to meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast. There is a High contrast setting, and the site respects your device's contrast setting.
- Motion is an extra, never a requirement. The site respects your device's reduced motion setting, and the Aa button has its own Reduce motion switch. With motion off, nothing is hidden.
- The home page also works with JavaScript switched off.
- Pictures have a text description. Decorative pictures are hidden from screen readers.
- Interactive parts, such as the menu and the question lists, use standard controls that screen readers understand.
What is not perfect yet
- The decorative clock on the home page is hidden from screen readers on purpose. Each part of the day has a real time written in the text.
- Some pictures are illustrations that will be replaced with photos later. The descriptions will be updated when they are.
- We have tested with common browsers and a keyboard. We have not yet had the site tested by a wide range of assistive technology users, and we would like to.
Tell us about a problem
If something does not work for you, please tell us on WhatsApp on 0113 114 437, or write to graceging22@gmail.com. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what you use to browse. We will do our best to fix it and to help you in another way in the meantime.
